Eat And Drink For Less This January!

You’d be lying to yourself if you said your ideal Friday consists of a gruelling 2 hour workout at the gym, so why not be honest and spend it the right way – with your favourite person, delicious food and a bottle of wine to share!

Starting from 6pm every Friday and Saturday, The Blue River Café will be providing an excellent offer of three courses and a bottle of wine to share for just £25 per person and, for those counting the calories; you can enjoy a lighter night of two courses (plus wine) for £22.50 per head.

Our special set menu is full to brim with delicious courses for you to enjoy and there’s sure to be something to satisfy all types of taste buds.

Our expert chefs will be preparing an assortment of delicious starters including whole grain mustard & ham hock terrine, prawn & crayfish cocktail with rose marie sauce and, of course, our hearty soup of the day (with crusty roll!).

Moving onto the mains, why not try our pan fried sea bass fillet with herb crushed new potatoes & crab dressing or, for the more carnivorous amongst you, our roasted chicken supreme with peperonata and crispy pan friend potatoes is sure to not disappoint.

For just a £5 supplement, you can even treat yourself to a thick, 8oz sirloin steak cooked just the way you like it with accompaniments of chunky chips, grilled mushroom and a juicy tomato.

Finishing the night off perfectly, our dessert menu is surely the icing on the cake.

Exquisite sticky toffee pudding with ice cream & lashings of toffee sauce is a brilliant way to round off the night, or, why not try my personal favourite: homemade warm double chocolate brownie with indulgent white chocolate sauce?

However, it wouldn’t be wining and dining without wine now, would it?

Our excellent wine offering is comprised of drinks from around the world, including the soft, fruity tones of Pigalle Brut from France and the warm blackcurrant character of Los Romeros Merlot from Chile.

But these are just two of the wines we have on offer, with many more waiting to be enjoyed on the night.
